Here is one that resonates with me. Have been listening to it since it came out, but never thought about it as a DB song - until now, that is. It is The Pretender, by the Foo Fighters. Here are selected quotes and what they mean to me.

"Keep you in the dark, You know they all pretend" - WWs secrets and lies. The gaslighting.

"The need you buried deep, The secrets that you keep are ever ready" - the addiction of infidelity.

"I'm finished making sense" - trying to reason with WW was not helpful.

"Done pleading ignorance" Denial - as to our roles in the breakdown of the M. Denial that the R is over.

"It's never-ending, never-ending" - see my thread, 'nuff said.

"What if I say I'm not like the others? What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?" - Time to take back my self-respect and refuse to be manipulated.

I'm the voice inside your head You refuse to hear, I'm the face that you have to face, Mirrored in your stare
I'm what's left, I'm what's right" - I am the lighthouse. I am also the voice of reason. I am the LBS

"So who are you?" - I think we ask this about WAS or WS daily. And although we desperately want to know, we never will.

Whatever you think of the lyrics, or relevance to DB or your sitch, the song rocks.

Enjoy,
