Wow, this thread had dropped all the way to the second page! Let's see if we can keep it on Page 1, at least!
Last evening did not start on an encouraging note. When she picked me up from work, W was complaining of being extremely tired, and also having a sore throat. So I pretty much had resigned myself to having to be patient a bit. Supper was leftover Easter ham, which was nice, and also meant there was very little to clean up. I made sure I did quite a bit of the clearing and tidying afterward. I spent some time on the computer, mostly selecting photos from the weekend to order prints for (digital cameras are great!). I had taken 58 pictures, of which I'll print 35. About 8:00 I went upstairs, and we watched a bit of TV. She was balancing the checkbook and reading. About 9:30, after having picked up S18 from work, she said she was going to "take a quick bath to warm up" (the weather here is kind of cold and rainy at the moment). Hmm... take a bath... can anyone say "Pavlov?"
While she was out getting S18, I had gotten the SSM book out and was reading it. I started at page 27, and read through to around page 42 or so. While she was in the bath, I put it away. She finished her bath, and we watched about half of Leno (we get the previous night's Leno at 10:00). While we were watching Leno, I was rubbing her shoulder, brushing her cheek with the backs of my fingers and stroking her arm gently, and she was responding in cuddly fashion. This was VERY nice for me, it caused me to feel very tender and loving towards her, and I could feel her tender, loving feelings for me - when I'd brush her cheek with my fingers, she would press her cheek towards me, in sort of a little "cheek hug".
As I turned the TV off, we cuddled a bit on the couch, and I could sense that she wasn't really up to ML, so I made my usual preparations for bed. When we got in bed and were saying goodnight, she wistfully said that she had wanted to ML, but just wasn't up to it. However, we did cuddle some more... she didn't want to kiss me, because she didn't want to give me her sore throat (just in case she was coming down with something contageous), but I was kissing her cheek, and cuddling against her, and she was responding in kind. I lightly caressed the fronts and backs of her thighs, and her buttocks also, and it was just a nice, warm, cuddly time. I was very much "at attention", and I'm sure she knew it, and I was almost thinking that perhaps she might not mind a bit of mb8 session, but decided not to press my luck, so I took care of myself afterward, but the cuddling had DEFINITELY helped me out there as well. I made sure I told her that she had made me feel loved, and this morning while I was shaving, we shared a hug and I again told her how nice the cuddling had been last night.
This morning before I made my lunch I noticed that there were some dishes from last night in the draining rack, so I put those away and also put all the dirty dishes into the dishwasher. She noticed, and thanked me! So I'm definitely counting last evening as a great success!
