HEY, was gonna type a weekend wrap-up tomorrow...but found a few minutes this afternoon.

Wednesday was the Chieftains Concert...AWESOME!!!

Thursday went to hand out with some folks who were traveling from out of town...ended up hanging out waaay to late...got home at almost 3AM.

Friday took the boys to breakfast and my folks took them until Sunday. by all accounts they had a good time with g-ma and g-pa.
Wife and I checked into hotel and socialized all day Friday and Saturday. we got to visit with quite a few people we only see once or twice a year. her best friend from Minn came down for the weekend so that was nice. Lots of good spirited fun, games, drinks and food.

Sunday went to wife's roller derby practice, was on the way home from the hotel we stayed in. got to help with the scrimmage and meet a bunch of the players. there will be more on this later in the week, I promise.

Sunday night, after I picked up the boys from folks house, and when we got home, I had a package. it was a charm necklass I had found online some almost two months ago that I bought for wife. Sterling heart made of two fish hooks with some fishing line twined around the hooks. I thought it was cute so I bought it for Valentine's day. It clearly didn't come in time so gave it to her yesterday. She really liked it.

Later that evening, wife and I went to the High Kings concert at the winery in Chicago...What a great show, had a nice dinner and the crowd was fun!!! Did I mention how much I enjoy going to live music shows smile

Overall a great weekend of getting out and doing and being!!!

Sunday night at bedtime, we were both super tired. we talked for a few minutes, then said our normal goodnights. lying there I felt like I could not have asked for a better weekend. Then the thoughts of intimacy started creeping in, not gonna lie...but got a little down as I was starting to doze. wife reached out to me and held my arm and shoulder tight with both hands, just then for a bit. after she let go, I leaned in and kissed her arm that was exposed. after a few moments she layed her head on my chest, wrapped her hand in mine and fell asleep. it lasted maybe 10 minutes, and nothing more came of it...it felt right. I really love THAT, always have.

today, work...BOOO smile back to reality.

This week might not be as hectic or exciting...but looking forward to it nonetheless. I will follow up later in the week with what is going on with more GAL plans, different and exciting!

Soooo my GAL has been doing well over the last year, well it feels like it has. Trying new things and putting myself out there...sometimes Just to get out of the house, but have been trying more and more to do more and be more that a lump of crap on the couch.

one of my secondary 'goals' for myself was to see what I could do to be on some kind of sports team, in all of my years I've been on teams before (High School, Jr. High, elementary) I've done sports and been on teams, but always individual sports like golf, tennis, swimming, bowling, etc. Even captain of chess team and swim team, but it was just not the same as a team sport. I played sports as a kid through high school but never organized....so It has been in the background for some time trying to work its way up.

I've looked at soccer teams, softball, basketball, bowling...just nothing struck me as what I wanted to do. Yesterday I went to my first Roller Derby practice for a local team. I am nowhere near track ready, so they will work with me during practices until I am roster ready. Don't know how long that will take...everyone is different on how they progress.

It was grueling and I had a blast. There are two practices a week plus they get together after Wednesday night practices for beers and sunday morning practices for brunch. This is an experience I've never been a part of. SO YAY.

Well I am very excited about this, body is all sorts of sore from the workouts, but can't wait to get back on the floor this sunday.

(BTW: I debated using Zephyr as my derby name, but don't think I will, i'd rather keep this DB board experience separate)

Zephyr- soft breeze from the West arising in the East.

Yielding and yang. Maybe a more yin name for a roller warrior.

Ryhpez reverse. Hyphenz?
