It is not a BD disaster if you do wish her a happy birthday, you can, but do it without expectations, say happy birthday and that is it, anything more would be pursuing. I mean, you would wish your neighbor a happy birthday, would you not? But you would not expect the neighbor to french kiss you in return, would you?
So, treat her like a neighbor, text happy birthday and be done with it.
Again, if you feel you would like to wish her HB, do, but do not pursue, plead or beg. You will get the hang of it, it just takes a bit of practice.
