Have you thought about a support group or joining an activity? We just moved here a year ago, so most of my friends are 3 hours away. I'm going to divorcecare and joined a beginners ladies golf league. It's helped a lot. I agree with Thornton. I'd skip the bar scene unless you have "wingmen" :-).
