Mines father never grew up, never could settle down, abadoned his children and family. (Dunno explicitly about an affair but it's an easy assumption). I never met the man, he died in a car crash about 3-4 years into our relationship but I had lunch with H's cousin last week. He asked if I ever met his dad, I said no, and his response was "yes you have." The sad reality is the two things H values most in people (loyalty and strength), are the two things he's completely lacking right now. I was there for the worst years of his life and he abadoned me when my mo got sick.
