Pink - The guy is crying, telling you he doesn't have a girlfriend, doesn't know what to do, trying to make contact - he wants back but you have already made it clear to him that you've moved on so he doesn't think he has a chance with you.
If you actually want him back, I think you need to at least ASK him if he is wanting to reconcile, or give him a little encouragement. I think it is your own fear of being hopeful that is making you push him away right now.
