hi all

I hope no one objects to this self indulgent post. I just wanted to start a thread for ideas for things to do with the kids whilst separated - like a bucket list. I want to get to a list of 100 activities that don't include the TV or video games or other electronic devices, iPads, etc. activities to help the father/mother bond with the kids

Of course we all have kids of different ages, toddlers, pre-teen and teenagers and different sexes of course! So if you post , say which category your activities pertain to: toddlers, preschool, preteen, teenagers etc.

Here is my first list of 25 or so I've tried not to include activities with the family. I would like more activities to do indoors - on the wet, cold and rainy days

Game of soccer in the park
Fly a kite
Get a drone and fly it
Ten pin bowling
Go to Alton Towers - theme park
Go to water world - water theme park
Go to see Xxx in Wales
Go to see Xxx in Brighton
A cycle ride in Cannock or Hicks Lodge
Go Ape - zip wire and high ropes
Play board games
Play Nerf Wars
Play cards
Run a 5k - park run
Go to Snowdome - indoor ski slope by home
Family Camp with the scouts
Go camping with XXXX and xxx
Electric scootering
Go to scooter park - normal scoorters
Go to 20-20 cricket
Get a creative toy and build - meccano?
Go to cinema
Go out for a pizza night
Fiireworks display in November in UK

I have 4 kids. D12 S9 S3 and S1. It's definitely tough finding things to do with all of them as little ones nap and the age difference is pretty large. This weekend tho we were able to
Go sledding on hill by house.
Made ninja turtle masks out of paper plates. s3 loves them.
Had a dance party at least 2 times a day.
Going to make cookies with D12 and any of the boys who want to help.

I would like to take them skiing soon.
Will go camping this summer.
Going to get them to help plant a garden and flowers

I try not to just do fun things tho. I do expect them to help with chores and responsibilities. I had them growing up. They should too

Taking D3 to the local playground, working on puzzles and reading stories are my current go to activities.

I've also taken her to places like the library, natural history museum, science museum, aquarium and local trail hikes.

I also have returned to the church and D3 likes going with me. Although I can't sing or dance, I have no problem singing or dancing with D3. I could barely dance at my wedding and wouldn't even sing in the shower because I'm so bad, but I have no fear with D3.

Going to a really good adventure playground is another one. Or what about a family challenge, like the mudder courses? My SS used to like making home made cards for people too. What about offering to walk a dog for an older person sometimes? Maybe joint story time? My sister read The Hobbit to us when I was about 10 and I've always remembered that.

Also, baking bread? I used to do that with my Dad. We also built a cathedral out of matchsticks and I have some nice memories of that. Family bike rides are nice too.

Sounds like you and your boys are going to have some fun Isit.... smile
