A great exercise for your abs is the plank position.
Think of the top position of a push up or the same position only your elbows/forearms and hands are on the ground too.
If you want to make this position more effective, flex your butt, quads, and chest at the same time. Pretend like someone is going to come around and hit you all over your body and you need to protect yourself from the blows. You can do these for 20 seconds at a time with 20 - 30 seconds rest any time you have a quick break and they'll strengthen a lot of muscles without any worry about injury from range of motion.
I bet 50 American dollars that Lady V is still quite the head turning, she must have been the cause of many a traffic accident 15 years ago!

Julie, thanks, I just tested mine and, first of all I thought I wouldn't feel any muscle at all but I did, and there is only a 1 finger gap, maybe slightly more between my muscles. I think for me part of the problem is I get bloated, I should keep a food log and see what foods are increasing the bloat. What do you think of the ab rocker? My d uses it and her abs are amazing, but then again she is 14 and also rides horses.
Fo, you are measuring in between the muscles that run down and parallel. I agree with pig pen I like planks or modified planks and Other exercises in which lower abdominals are engaged more than ab rocker.

One thing I have done, in my 20s, 40's and 50s (missed my 30s) is have a professional photo shoot. Including nude shots. I was intending to do that in my 60s ano I am going to have to get into shape for it. The company is called For Your Eyes Only.
I was waiting for a groupon or offer as I am on their mailing list, was going to make that my target for 2016. I addition I have booked in September to abseil the spinnaker for charity. I usually do 5 Physical and development challenges each year.
For this year they are: Photoshoot Spinnaker Essential Experience Course in USA Decorate and renovate the house Lose 20 lbs
Last year I only managed 2 challenges and 50% of the third (weight loss)
Will do better this year. So this thread is very important motivation.

I gave up simple sugar (and all processed food) and apart from a recent lapse I haven't indulged. Also no alcohol although I cook with it.
I drink coffee. No cheeeeeeeese.
My body smell, my clothes, bedding all currently smell like powdered milk. Others have commented on it when entering the house too. When I exercise it is even stronger and my 3 Ps are all smelling of a little powdered milk. It isn't ketosis. I am used to smelling Vanilla and it's normal. This is new, no diabetes positive. Vaguely vanilla whey powder, which I use.
Have you come across anything like this before?

That's really interesting V, I haven't come across anything like this before. However your PH may be changing as you detox from the sugar and alcohol. If you don't feel any different I wouldn't pay it too much thought, especially since you know it's not diabetes or ketosis.
