I've been cleared by the cardiologist to begin exercising. The good news is that my heart is functioning correctly. The bad news is that these palpitations are now part of my permanent reality. My function didn't drop overall. My blood pressure is still way too high, so he's starting there. He says he could tell every time I got stressed when I was wearing the heart monitor, because it literally had a build-up to the jolt, and then it would settle down again. He couldn't tell the why, but he could see the result.
I'm happy with the news. I was terrified they were going to put a pacemaker in. He says not yet. The benefit isn't outweighing the risk. If I can get in shape, I may be able to function on a normal level. That, that is my goal! To not be terrified because I have heart failure and my heart is skipping beats. How wonderful would that be?
What a great morning! I was just looking through the MLC threads, and found this great little gem that may help many of us focus in the right areas:

That is good news. Exercising again should help your mood too. I can definitely tell a difference now that it is dark in the evenings and I'm not walking as much.

The best words of wisdom I received on this forum were from Avanti, he told me "follow your plan, not your feelings." I remind myself of that everyday. Feelings can change based on the weather, the music I am listening to, the direction of the wind, anything. But the plan stays the same.
And Jpeg- I posted on the exercise thread for you- there is a yoga DVD called PiYo that I highly recommend. Its a combo pilates/yoga. Its pretty intense and gets your heart rate going. I really miss hot vinyasa yoga, but the health clubs around here are really expensive and the schedules don't work for me.
I know that January is the month people get gung ho, especially about exercise. But remember your poor heart and go easy.
I understand your issues with moving back in with mom. That is what I did and every day my children tell me how terrible it is for them. I am struggling here, but I know it is only temporary and it is the quickest way I can get me and my kids into our own house. I have hard times with waiting games and mom was the fastest baby step I could take.
You dont have to move in with mom, just keep taking steps to get out of there. Even while you are waiting for Jan 22.
