Must be the day for antidepressant warnings...don't have time to read your link but did see brief story today on the fact that studies have shown a correlation between antidepressants and suicide. They listed most of the common ones and even a few that are the supposed "light" ones like celexa.
what to take from this info?
if you are not taking antidepressants yet but feel a possible need...seek out all other means (exersize, diet, new activity etc) of bringing yourself up before going for them.
if you are already taking them...be very very careful!!
I take Effexor. This news makes me sad. So does my sex life. I think I'm going to end it all. My choice of death is to be shot by a justifiably jealous husband of woman with big boobs.
I thought it ironic that they didn't understand the correlation...seems to me the correlation would be...
depressed person takes meds to feel undepressed but then becomes depressed that they are taking meds to feel undepressed and now don't like the way the meds make them feel.
suppose that's a pretty ignorant assumption to make but seems to be the way it goes.
It is a well established fact that a person is more likely to commit suicide *after* they come off the bottom of a deep depression. A seriously depressed person doesn't normally have what it takes to kill themselves - just moving is hard.

I will ferret out an affair at any opportunity.
-An affair is the embodiment of entitlement, fueled by resentment and lack of respect. -An infidel will remain unreachable so long as their sense of entitlement exceeds their ability to reason.
I second that - this is true of any treatment for depression - even electroshock therapy.
Also - drugs like Prozac and Zoloft are excellent drugs that work well and are real life-savers for many people. HOWEVER - in my experience, about one in every 20 or 30 people cannot tolerate them - they become agitated, usually within the first 2 weeks. Those people should discontinue the drugs - continuing the drugs only makes it worse. Many of the problems that have occured with these drugs happened because the patient wasn't followed in the inital period to watch for that kind of reaction.
Also - the article in my newspaper points out that no studies have actually shown an increased rate of suicide with these drugs - this warning is based on anecdotal reports only.
