SJ - It sounds like you are doing all of the right things. I do believe that there is some change coming, but it appears to be glacially slow. I appreciate the level of patience you are showing and can understand how difficult it must be.
Stay on your path as it reads like a shift is occurring. It will be up to him whether he joins you or not.
