Generally, AD's take the edge off the depression just a bit. It should not prolong the length of time that she goes through the crisis. When she and her doctor determine that she's ready to come off the meds, they will do it slowly so that she doesn't react terribly.

Not many will seek out professional assistance in the way of AD's. The question now will be...will she continue to take them or discover the side effects are too much for her to deal with. Time will tell.

Keep the focus on you. Let's hope that your wife will navigate her crisis in a timely fashion and not be too destructive along the way.
