Ok, if she is not living with you and she is using a joint credit card for anything besides basic needs, food, gas to work, etc. I would cancel the card or take her name off. This is why separation agreement are necessary...to protect family funds. Period.

That is my opinion.

I know, I know.

I canceled the CC but she opened a new line of credit through the same bank under her name only and the debt was transferred to Her new CC, but am I still liable for the old debt?

This is exactly what my H has been doing. I have retained a lawyer and am beginning separation agreement.

I have no idea. You would be best served by finding that out and I mean fast. It is not hard to rack up debt if you are not in a mood to give two-$hits.

Speak to an attorney, they will help!
