These are some huge steps you are taking and I really admire your strength and determination. You are so very focused on whats important and not letting the other things bring you down to much it would seem. If this isnt unconditional love at its best I dont know what is. Your H should be beat upside of the head with a 2X4. I cant begin to imagine all the love you have showered him with and he just doesnt get it.
