Hi Haunted, I’m so sorry that things are turning this way for you, with your H bringing up the D subject. I agree with Job, they do it thinking that it will change things and make them happy. Obviously your H still has feelings for you. This is why his head is all over the place. Seems so much similar to my H telling me at BD that he wanted to start a new phase of his life, but didn’t want to completely lose me, so he was hoping that we would be best friends. Three years later it doesn’t quite work like this. About 8 months after BD he brought up the D subject, and asked me if we could fill out the papers online together. I told him that he could go ahead and do this himself, send them to me and would forward them to my lawyer. Three years later there are still no papers and no filing.
Hang in there. Let you H do the work. If he wants to file, don’t help him.
As about him stopping having feelings for you after he left, and him giving you a hug because he just wanted to be nice… This is such a bs! What he is doing is trying to convince himself that he has no feelings for you and what he is doing is the right thing. This is so MLC, he is following the script.
