i'm buying a car! My friend drove in from Vancouver and we went out for the evening. She's moving to Germany and wants to sell her car...1996 Mazda 5 hatchback with 85,000 miles on it and she's giving it to me for $2,000. She just wants to get rid of it. Works for me. I got wheels again!
Absolutely, I feel guilty lol. Actually, she was going to give it to me for a thou but I said that was too low! I'll still probably have to pay another thou in taxes cuz they tax you on the book value, not what you paid for it. Still a good deal though.
Well, Nikon D7000 Lady seems to have moved on...I guess asking to see more of her photos was just too intimate for her lol. Some of these people seem to have the attention span of flies. So, my slate is now clear...the key now is to not message, like or even breathe too close to anyone online. Just be still.
Last year I think I compared Online Dating with Renting Cottages on Kijiji. This year I have had one family that have been negotiating for a week now. They say they're sending the deposit but it and the agreement never arrive. Now - these days your transfer arrives in app 15 min. The rental agreement - instantaneously. I want to pack it in yet - its hard to turn your back on a thousand dollars. Promises. Promises. Trust with strangers is difficult on both sides. But you have to take a little risk. Listen to your gut. And see how it goes.
Thanks Barb, your comparisons are very apt. I think it just shows that people are people and will usually take the easy way out of any interaction unless there is a compelling reason not to. That's life. I'm not sweating this one though. We chatted a few times and, as far as I could see, things were going ok...I guess she didn't see it that way. This time round I am listening to my gut and I'm not desperate to be in a relationship...someone messes with me, I move on. I have always tried to be aware of other people's feelings and maybe that makes me odd in the world of online dating. It's rare to get that in return. She's about the tenth woman I've dealt with in the last two months. I really am a bit tired and find the ups and downs of this process, which can change at the drop of a hat, trying sometimes. One day she's here, next she's gone. You're offered phone numbers and yet never get a reply...weird stuff and once I think I've seen it all....they come up with a new one lol.
