I just saw that he messaged her on FB that he still wants to be with her. So, you're right, not really in the right place yet. It's so hard to tell. He seems to be flailing about looking for hope/help/love
That's why the rule is believe none of what they say and only half of what they do, right?
So if he's flailing around, why do you want to grab on? Let him go. Once he's more stable, then you're going to be able to have much more meaningful discussion.
