Well, weird day really. W phoned several times at 1230. Didn't see it ring. SD then texted to say W needed to go to hospital. Obviously, I rang W immediately.
W had collapsed at home with severe backpain. W managed to get herself to doctors, but needed admitting to A&E. I left work and came straight home. W was in pain but insisted on being stubborn.
W said she wanted me to take her to hospital, but not wait with her as the doctors might ask 'personal questions'. We've been together for 16.5 years, I know everything, so what a strange answer.
Drove W to hospital. W wanted just to get out of the car and walk in herself but she almost collapsed getting out of the car, with a grip of her mobile phone. I told her not to be stupid and walked her into admissions. W then told me to go and get the children from school (SD was going to do it but she can't really handle S).
At school I met her best friend. She was asking how W was doing and said could she visit her in hospital as she had 'nobody else'. I told her I was her husband and that was my job. W's friend then asked how I was and expressed concern at out current predicament and that W had told her 'nothing had happened' and she couldn't understand why W was running away. She then said she hoped we could sort it out. My thoughts exactly.
She has just texted my SD to say she's had a scan and is now awaiting results. I don't appear to be wanted again.
