Happy, kml hit on something that you might want to reflect on...could he be an insecure narcissist? Do you recall if he mentioned whether or not his parents did this appearance stuff? He definitely has an issue w/how you look, i.e., you as an extension to him.
Is he like this in other areas of his life as well? What about your son? Does he try to dress him too?
Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to. The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.
