What am I doing? I joined Slim4Life, which is a doctor endorsed program here. I have eliminated all processed foods (with the exception of 1 tsp. margarine per day and 2 Tbsp. of fat free salad dressing).
Tonight's menu: 4 oz of steak, 1 cup of salad (lettuce, 1 green onion and some chopped red pepper), 1 cup of broccoli and half of a small baked potato. I'm not hungry now that my body has adjusted to eating well. (Lunch was grilled chicken salad....). I get small portions of fruit during the day and have to drink 10 8 oz glasses of water.
It's really tasty and I have found that I don't miss my old foods much. Okay, so I'd like to liberally sprinkle my salad with grated parmesan cheese, but I'll live without it!
It's really good!
Take care,
Betsey

Sounds like things are going swimmingly for you Betsey! Thats AWESOME! 9 lbs already, you might be ready for that thong too! Spandex also works well!
Question for you, you have been mentioning Step 3, what is Step 1, 2, and 3? Do you have a post (refer date) that you have outlined these things? Just curious.
Your diet sounds like a variation of the Atkins Diet - high on proteins and low on carbs, right?
I keep reading that drinking lots of water improves the skin no end, have you found that? Also, if you have to drink that quantity of water, I suppose you have to almost cut out coffee and stuff, or else with the huge amount of liquid you'd go around sloshing like a hot water bottle?

Seattle--I'll wear a thong if you promise to walk behind me and watch me dig it out of my butt crack....
Merrick--well, won't we have a good time later on this summer?
LNL--the plan isn't even close to being Adkins. My protein is limited to 2x a day (and as big as a deck of cards). I get carbohydrates, but they are complex and nearly all of them are in raw form (via fruits and veggies).
I do get coffee--2 cups a day! And now that my body is used to flushing out that amount of liquid, I'm not running to the toilet as much as in the beginning.
Now, let me tell you about the weather here. It's been gorgeous and is only supposed to get better! We really need the snow and/or rain, though, and are expected to have very serious drought conditions this summer as a result.
We're going to hang out outside today!
Enjoy!

To answer your Step questions--they are the steps in DR. Step 1: Start with beginner's mind; Step 2: Know what you want; Step 3: Ask for what you want.
Most of us cannot do Step 3 until our spouses are ready to hear it and are receptive to giving it to us.
For me, I knew what I wanted: Mr. Wonderful to make a decision. I was finally at a point where I needed one to be made, either way. Now understand that he hasn't officially chosen to reconcile, but he told me flat out that he doesn't want the D and isn't ready to move back home. AND he's aware that too much time has passed to let this go on any longer.
BTW, Triple J was a really big help with me on this. We've had many IM and phone chats this past week, and he was able to assist me in fine tuning my approach. That's why I owe him some beer...
Reconciling before he moves home IS what I want. And I think he wants it too.
Hope this clears up your questions...
