Hey Bob and Zephyr, was too tired last night to finish writing all my thoughts, but the gift shops at the park didn't have duct tape. Can you believe it?!?! Green, shamrock, or doggy print would have all been okay by me. Maybe next time.

Thanks for the smile you two!

And Bob, I have heard that song in the last two weeks a bit too much, but hockey is a heck of a lot of fun. smile

Matt, you are absolutely correct! There is no winning when they are that tired!

Teach, thank you for the compliment. I wish I was always strong but I work at it. Keep working on that PMA, it gets easier the more you work at it. You can do it, I know!!!

Dearest Eirinn,

I read your post from last night and quoted most of your's from earlier today above.

Once again, you have me in stitches!! I can't stop laughing about the duct tape and the Zamboni Song comments.

I am thrilled that you validated your H's feelings: "that must have been frustrating for you" as I beleive that was a good move on your part. Also, you can probably guess what I am going to say about keeping up with your PMA....Good for you E! grin grin

Overall, it sounds like your day went pretty well. We always wish (in our sitches here) they would go even better, but you hung in there and did well.

Please give yourself a pat on the back. Post if and when something new pops up or you just need to vent.

You're getting there. Like your subject: Put one foot in front of the other.

xoxo

Bob

I think I screwed up. My H came down from putting our S down for the night and sat down to talk. We talked about work, agility, and staying healthy. He suggested that we start taking walks at night as a family. I said that would be good when the weather and our schedules coordinated. Then we said goodnight and went to our separate rooms. Then I sent him a text, "Thanks for talking. It was nice."

Haven't heard since. Dumb dumb dumb.

I have done that too. I think it is ok as long as you don't expect reply. He might get worried you are reading too much into talk, but as long as you don't make big deal about it then it is just a blip.

Probably didn't refister much to him...but as DBers, we focus so much on making every interaction perfect that any minor slip-up has is convinced it's all going to come crashing down. Learn from your mistake and don't make it again. All told, probably no big deal though.

BW and Matt, thanks for talking me off of the cliff! Still haven't heard from him, but I'm back to not worrying about it.

Act as if.

So we received a pile of forms from the testing place today for my S and we began to go through them. As we're doing it, my H is getting more and more tense and withdrawn, typing away on his phone. He tells me he wants to call and push the district to test our son sooner. If we do that, we won't get the quality eval we will get from this place. I looked at him and told him that I would like it done faster too but I also want it done right. He sighed and said fine. Then he asked to finish up the paper work tomorrow.

Dark time for us right now.

Do you know why he wanted to move the date up? If so, did you validate at all? Was this negotiable or a hard stop?

Tough times Eirinn. But you're right. In the big picture the little things won't tip the scales. Can you imagine? "Dad, why did you and mom not love each other forever?" "Well S, it was because she sent a text saying it was nice to talk to me after a stroll one evening...I knew right there things were irreconcilable..."

You got this!
