Try to keep those low, cause you really never know what might happen.

Rubi, what's going on with you? How about an update?

I saw myself getting impatient. I decided to relax and detach for a few days : )

I've been thinking a lot about being a man... having strength... and finding a balance between love and respect.

The past few days have been good. I feel more secure than I've felt in a long time.

I remembered that I am a confident, successful, attractive MAN. I'll be fine no matter what happens.

My W and I went for a 24 mile bike ride on Saturday. We both had a great time. Other than that, our contact has been limited but pleasant.

I feel like I'm in a good place. I'm no longer feeling anxious or impatient. I'm no longer eager to expedite an outcome. Whatever happens, happens... When it happens : )

Rubi,

Thanks for the update. It sounds like you're doing better and getting a better handle on the sitch. A bike ride with W...how lovely. Hope it was good for you two.

It sounds like you're in a great place emotionally and past the "crisis" mentality.

The cycling event sounds very cool. I'm just thinking about getting more serious about cycling as one of my long term 180s to stay active. How long have you been doing it? Any pointers? wink

So....

Today, my W started following me around the house when I got home from work. She kept making suggestions about different things we could do this weekend. My W picked up on my noncommittal responses. Then she asked me, "Do you not want to hang-out with me?"

I calmly said, "Things are different now. You told me that you don't love me any more, you're not interested in working on our marriage, and you had, or are still having, an affair. I think it's probably best if we start doing our own things separately. If we decide to deliberately work on our marriage, things might be different."

What does everybody think? Did I make a mistake here?

Mistake?? Sheeeeet, son, that's an A+ response!! I couldn't have penned it any better from my remote, not-my-marriage-to-risk seat in your peanut gallery!!!

You just did a classic "Plan A/Plan B" on her. Showed her what she'd be missing with the bike ride, and then fully detached with your PERFECTLY-delivered response to her questioning.

STAY THE COURSE.

Thanks Starsky!

She seemed to be surprised/disappointed at my response. A while after we spoke, she started trying to be clingy... I kept my contact short.
