Well he said now he gets what is going on. He is glad he asked but about half way through kind of wished he hadn't because I was bawling. I didn't mean to cry but I had already been silently crying all morning. Both boys in 6 months, moving out, makes for one sad Mom. We have been this tight little team and now, it seems to be drifting apart.

I really wish God wouldn't trust me so much either, I feel like one more thing and I am going to break. I don't even think Gorilla glue could put me back together.

Well, then I hope that nothing else gets piled on your plate so I have to drive out with Gorilla glue! I happen to think you've got a secret stash of kryptonite, so will it to come forth!

Awwww. Well, let me hand you a different set of glasses, my dear. The one I know you can see differently when you adjust. This is what you raised your boys to do - to grow up, be responsible, to be self sufficient, to be able to make decisions for themselves, and yes, to love their mom because she gave them the tools to spread their wings and fly.

I happen to think that you would absolutely despise sitting in a room where you could overhear Aunt Sally saying, "You know, she never did force those boys to do anything for themselves and now look at her. She's got 2 momma's boys who can't keep a job or have relationships like we did back in our day. I'd have taken a switch to her if I had known." grin

I need to make you smile, so I'll tell you a true story of the.2ndworst.blind.date.of.my.life. (Worst is saved for another day.) I was a temp for IBM my last 2 years in college and worked for them the summer after I graduated. By then, I had made some good friends, one of which was a married engineer who became kind of a mentor to me. He was a project lead, and had some engineers under him for reporting purposes. One of them was an idiot named Vince who had a massive crush on me. He was smart, and on paper bright, accomplished with a great future. My mentor told me about the crush and suggested I give him a chance. Sigh.

I won't tell you about all the wonderful details about my date with this a*hole. But it ended with us in a restaurant in Old Town Alexandria. He told me that we would go to Hawaii on our honeymoon. I won't even go into how awesome we communicated. smirk But he ended it with telling me, "I can't see you this weekend because it's my weekend to bring my laundry home to mom in Baltimore. She's jealous of the girls I go out with, so we'll have to have a relationship during the week." That's when I said, "You know what, Vince? You can take me home right.now. Because I don't date momma's boys. I don't date people who don't allow me to have a voice."

I *will* tell you how the story ended. On Monday, I got to work and before our staff meeting, my mentor pulled me aside. He suggested I lie low for the day so he could do some employee managing as well as some damage/gossip control. Much to my horror, Vince got to work early and told people that I slept with him on our first date, and that he couldn't see dating me because I was a little too slutty for him. My mentor sure as heck knew better. He didn't believe a word he said and although I left at the end of the summer, the folks that liked me there decided they didn't like having him part of their team. So my mentor got him transferred to another office. cool

So when I think of momma's boys, it's Vince's picture that I see. I'm THRILLED your sons grew up to be everything you wanted for them. They're good men because of you. smile

LOL, your S19 is 19!!!! Vince was 28, lived in a posh condo and had a masters degree in engineering! And yes, he was a colossal jerk.

Vince did it because momma told him to. He refused to tell her that he had other plans on weekends. Let's just bet a six pack of coke that at 28, your S19 will not be doing laundry at your house. And if he does, it will probably be because his is broken. wink

Some day, I'll tell you about #1 with a guy my sister and I call Chester the Molester. It was kind of a scary one at best. crazy

"It's Complicated" was on last night. The first movie that I saw that just nailed divorce. First movie I remember laughing at since the divorce. I have no desire to get back with my ex but the rest of it just makes sense.

Man, I am dreading Monday. I know most people feel the same way, but it just keeps getting worse.on my end. I found a job at my current company that is home based, I just have to let my boss know that I am applying. Can anyone say awkward!!??

Hi Kat, if you are only applying for the job, why would you tell your boss? Isn't a better sequence to do this when you get the job offer?

God's blessings on your upcoming week. And peace.

They, ie the company, thinks it fosters the open communication the company believes in. I don't actually agree, but the minute I hit apply, it sends him an email too.

Yikes! I chopped my hair off a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to change something, now the next thing.

Hi Kat, that makes sense. But what about using your home computer and a non-work email? Or are the 2 companies linked in together.

Just tryin' to help out. And I'll bet the short haircut looks "fabulous"!

The job is open internally only right now, and I hope to be the one to fill it, so I have to go this route.

My hair wasn't growing out the way I liked so I went in during my half hour lunch and told the gal I wanted something fun. Her eyes bugged out and I felt bad putting her in that spot. It is a pixie, with long on top and short on the back. My hair is really thick, so it felt tons lighter. smile

Control what I can you know. smile
