On a whim I texted W while I was waiting for a meeting to start.

Me: On my way to a meeting, just thinking about you. All good things, I promise :-)

W: Well that's nice of you!

Me: I have my moments

After a couple of minutes:

Me: Anyway, gotta go. I love you. See you tonight after I pick up D15.

W: Love you too!


"Well, that's nice of you!" Really? What am I, a friendly acquaintance?

Part of me knows that I'm mindreading. Part of me wonders if I just interrupted her staring at pics of OM on Facebook.

Did I just screw up here? Saying "ILY" isn't out of left field, she says that to me all the time.

I don't want to pursue or pressure; I'm sick of being afraid to express my feelings to my wife, even the good ones.
