That is my goal. I will not continue to intervene forever. With things being so fresh I guess I am protecting them a little. There are certain things, smaller issues, that I will not address. My answer for that is " I am sorry x is happening. You will need to take that issue to your mom." My hope is that once they learn how to communicate with her on the smaller topics then they can start to stand on their own 2 feet on the more major topics.
Every day I remind myself that I am their rock. I am their consistency and I am a role model for them.
