Thanks V for stopping by. Sorry you subjected yourself to my threads - it's a rather dull tale with so little occurring on the R front around here.

You sound like you've done some interesting things in your life! Yes, I love Uganda. Beautiful people, beautiful lush landscape. I've been going there for work since 2005 - it's been amazing to see all the changes, all the construction - phew! So many new buildings popped up in Kampala, particularly just before the Queen came to visit a few years ago (CHOGM). The boda boda (motorbikes) were all cleared from the streets for the Queen's visit, too.

I've only been to Kigali in Rwanda, never ventured out to the wildlife areas. I presume you mean the gorillas? How was that? Haven't done that yet.

Also spent a bit of time in Tanzania (Dar, Zanzibar, Maasai areas in the north) and DR Congo. All so very different. I think Zanzibar is one of my all time favourite places - a melting pot of cultures, amazing seafood night markets, and of course Freddy Mercury.
