Report on my Friday night dinner date w/ C - she was wearing a pants/blouse outfit that showed more cleavage than she usually shows and I believe she noticed me notice that some even though it was not mentioned.

When I got there we let Cookie and big B play together. Even tho both are Chihuahuas, it seems that Big B is over twice the size of Cookie. We then went in and C stated cooking and I tried to set up the tv satellite receiver but I think that a wind storm about 2 weeks ago moved the dish and it will have to be re-aimed. I opened a bottle of wine that we had bought over a year ago when we were on a trip to Florida and shared a glass. She said it was appropriate that we drink it together since we bought it together. While she was finishing with getting dinner ready I was squatted down in the kitchen and leaning back against the cabinets playing with Cookie, C came over and gently patted my shoulder while telling me how cute Cookie was. By then she had dinner ready and I then noticed that she had set out the salads on the dinning room table and dimmed the lights and lit two candles.

We had a very pleasant dinner and good conversation (she told me two risque jokes) and also mentioned that she has noticed that her “single” status had increased her tax withholdings and she does not have as much money as before. After Dinner we went to the living room and watched a pay per view movie (runaway jury). We did not snuggle or anything but only sat at each end of the couch but did have good conversation during the movie.

After the movie we went back into the kitchen and she said thanks for coming over and that she was aware that the relationship was very strained lately and just wanted us to have a good, fun evening. I agreed with her and tried to change the subject back to just fun things and after a few minutes the conversation did drift back to good chitchat.

During our talk, she mentioned that she had tried to cut Big B’s dog nails but that it seemed to hurt him and she said she would have to get my D to do it (my D use to work at a dog grooming place and has lots of experience with trimming dog nails) she also said she had gone to a flea market and found some audio books and thought that my mom might like them.

After some more chitchat and a lot of her hugging on Cookie and also talking about Cookie’s and Big B’s puppies - it was time to go and she gave me a nice hug - still not much of a kiss though. after we said our good byes and I was walking out through the garage, she opened the door again and said “Oh, I just wanted to let you know that you looked great tonight”.

All in all - it think it was a good night - not like some of our 24 to 36 hour dates of November but a good start to rebuilding a friendship. One that she initiated.
