good morning -

other than the IM yesterday morning saying happy birthday there was no contact w/ C

on the other hand Cookie is doing fine for the first night here. she spent the night in her crate and only whimpered for about 2 or 3 minutes at first. I think being an older pup has its advantages - She stayed under foot most of the time and loves laying in my lap. I think she will be a good addition to my little family - will give me something to do at night to train her.

question is I need some things from C that the other puppy is not using - should I just replace them or contact C to arrange to get them. I also need to contact C to arrange to pickup my tennis racket.

Well it is now off to work - everyone - have a good day

Go buy new stuff, but you knew I was going to say that! LOL
I think a bed partner by the name of cookie would be nice!
My bed partner is "misty" a maltese!

LMAO

Hi Deb - I did buy new stuff - She will really be good for me to have around the apartment. I just hope my cat gets along with her - Big B (my other puppy w/ C) and my cat played together some but cat did not put up with it much. I think they will get along fine though.

Hi Ellie -

Chick magnet she is - and C knows that she is a chick magnet. But she is also a sweet new friend.

Hi Laurie - thanks for the birthday wish - even if it is late by a day.

I did break down and called C today to tell her about cookie and to ask for some of Big B's old things that she was not using. she was really supprised that I got cookie and wanted to see her - I took her over and she watched her for me while I went on my flying lession and worked out and then I went back to pick her up and pick up the items I needed.

C took me to lunch for a belated birthday dinner and we had plesant talk - I basicly told her that I finally accepted that she was right and that it was over, but that I did want to be friends if she wanted to. I did tell her tho that I thought that friends took their friends feelings into consideration and would not intentionally do or say anything that they knew would hurt - she said that she did not want to hurt me and did not know what to say when we were together and felt that when she said anything at all that it hurt. I told her that I was ok with general conversation but to please not rub my face in her situation. I had to go get my checks and then fly and work out so I left, but she said we would talk more when I came back.

I picked up my checks from the bookkeeper (not getting them from C any more) and talked w/ her for a few and she told me that C told her several times that she was concerned about me and wanted to call but did not want to hurt me again. also said that C asked her alot if she had called me and checked with me on various things.

When I picked up Cookie after working out we just chitchatted in the living room some and I notice her really smiling when Big B would lick my face and ears and also when Cookie curled up in mylap. She commented about the markings of Big B and Cookie and that they would make beautiful puppys. She also told me about her meeting about selling her business and she thought positive things about the meeting. We never did do any more talking about us tho.

When I left I mentioned that we did not talk any about us but I said we could do that later. She said that maybe we should wait til we each get over the humps in the road in our businesses and then talk. She then brought Big B over to Cookie and said "Big B, say goodbye to your future wife" She then gave me a little kiss on the cheek and I left.

I thought there were several small baby step positives in the evening. I will keep on with my life but will not close the door.

morning coffee

something else from last night - it seems that this weekend is the weekend that C is going to be out of town w/ OG - I told her yesterday that I hoped that she had a really good time as that I felt that she deserved to be happy.

I also told her that I had stopped my AD's (Pam I know what you are thinking) but I had only been on them just over a month and I did not want to get "Hooked" on them so I just stopped. That was over a week ago. When I went to work out C called her Sis (the nurse) to check on stopping AD's and Sis said not the smartest thing to do but that since I was only on them for 5 weeks that that would be in my favor.

She also fixed me a bacon and egg sandwitch when I got back to pick up Cookie. that is when she talked to me about the meeting, my AD's, and she also told me that lately she had started binge eating of sweets (a whole box of swiss cake rolls in two days, for example)

well - I better go for now - I have a dentist appt at 7

Odga,

I'd say there are toddler steps here! And many!

I think C is in the last stages of MLC, She is now sorry for hurting you, doesn't want to hurt you anymore, wants to be friends. I'd say she is opening her eyes! And remaining her friend, validating what she says is what will tip the scales in your favor!

Supremely happy that you are not closing the door. And looks like "cookie" is going to not only be your buddy but another link to C! Woo Hoo!

Good luck at the dentist!

Deb
