I think that C must still talk about you in a very positive way from what the bookkeeper said today.
I would think you could leave the door open without putting your life on hold.
Doesn't mean you are going to get serious with anyone, just make some new friends and enjoy some outings. Spring is coming and it is a wonderful time of year!
