I just refreshed my memory on your situation and by the sounds of it, he's very depressed and stuck in a rut. Is he taking any medications? Is he seeing a counselor?
You're right, you can't even come across as hounding him. You mentioned in your other thread that he's been putting off cleaning up the basement. If he hasn't done anything down there yet, can you offer to help him? Maybe doing it together, or at least starting it together, will get him down there?
