One final post before I close shop for the night! I don't know if I'll be on tomorrow, as things look a little crazy around my place.
After my last perplexing convo with Mr. Wonderful, I have an equally perplexing behavior with which I can match it.
A few minutes before the end of my work day, he showed up at my office to get D10... and promptly hit the head (sorry, worked in the military industrial complex too long to change). I asked D10 where her dad was and she told me, so we started walking toward that side of the building--I had to give him some golf papers he needed.
I was more than a few steps ahead of D10 as I turned the corner... just in time to catch Mr. W. walking toward me. He was smiling from ear to ear (WTF? Bob in person?) and started waving at me???? As in, he looked really excited to see me?!?!
I was feeling a little like Molly Ringwald at the end of Pretty in Pink--pretty disbelieving he was staring at me and maybe a little bit annoyed--but I don't have anybody that resembles Ducky...
I turned around to see if he was waving at D10, but she was talking to my colleague and facing the other direction...
I gave him the golf papers... and Bob was present in full force:
MW: Enthusiastically. "OH, good! I'll add this to my notebook, which is increasing rapidly!"
Me: Couldn't seem to muster Bob... thrown off track by Bob greeting me. "Uh, okay. I wrote the deposit check and mailed it off today."
MW: "Terrific! Thanks so much!"
Me: "Uh, okay. Well, I'm going to close up shop and get out of here."
MW: Smiling broadly... actually, beaming. "See you later!" Giving me a Terrell Davis wave.....
Holy moses what is he doing? These beaming smiles and frantic waves? What a complete enigma? From depressed, MLC man to a real live Bob Barker? In particular, a Bob Barker who keeps reappearing?
Where did the sullen Curly Joe go? I've been way too accustomed to dealing with that guy...
