I'm Catholic, divorced, and still go to Communion.
The issue the church has is that they still consider me married to my XW. There is no sin in somebody else legally divorcing you. You can't stop them from doing that.
What they don't allow is getting remarried in the Catholic Church without first getting an annulment. Or getting remarried outside the church and continuing to go to Communion. Although enforcement of that varies from church to church.
I'd encourage you to stop worrying about things you can't control and work on things you can.
Everybody hurts. It's part of life. Don't miss the good stuff.
