First of all...here's a big ol comforting hug!

Second..is it possible that it's not that he's untrustworthy..but rather that he's trying to assert his independece?

That he still feels that he's in a fishbowl on a leash?

It does sound like he's feeling guilty and sad.

But I think if he's still feeling the fishbowl/leash thing, then he's just kicking at the walls.

It doesn't really justify lying...but I'm seeing it as a desperate attempt to keep his individuality alive.

Does that make sense?
