Soup?! What a very kind and genuine gesture! I would LOVE someone to make me homemade soup. It could definitely be considered pursuing (unless you're in the habit of making soup for your friends when they're sick) but it's suck a caring gesture.
I always did things like this for her when she got sick. I would not hesitate to get out of bed in the middle of the night and drive to the drug store if she woke up with a sore throat or sick and needed medicine. It never occurred to me NOT to do that.
