You're confusing physical attractiveness and "chemistry" attractiveness.
That makes sense. That actually makes a lot of sense.
This whole Fort Drum thing in Watertown...ladies, there are men EVERYWHERE. I guess that's what got me thinking. Men jogging, driving Jeeps with tops down, men hauling kayaks somewhere, men with boats...men in uniform...lots of good-looking, healthy men. I just may like this place. D20 suggested we head over to Drum to ask for help in moving furniture. lol. Lots of men.

(Btw, I have a very - VERY - handsome boyfriend now. Like - neighbor lady drives into the carport post because she's eyeing him - handsome. But lucky for me, he's very loyal, plus he has a little mild touch of body dysmorphic disorder so he's not really used to thinking of himself as handsome. Nice because he's not full of himself the way some handsome men can be. And he's totally available, which is a healthy change for me.)
I don't know what that feels like...having someone totally available. I've never had that experience. It would be nice to be a priority to someone. I think I could get used to it. It might feel weird at first, but I'd like to try.
This move is going to be good for me.
I'm feeling some waves of sadness...I've lived here my whole life. 20+ years in the same house. 46 years of memories. I guess that's why this pretty house in New York seems so important. I need to feel like we are moving up in the world. I'm leaving my hometown and I need to feel like I'm letting go of this life for something better. I guess I get it.
Yesterday was Smokey's birthday. I decided to take the high road and send a Happy Birthday text. I never received one myself last week on my birthday and, in the moment, it felt free and just the "right" thing to do for someone who had been in my life for so long. After, though, I caught myself looking for the reply that never came. I guess I am just not able to have any conversation with him. It messes me up. I'm better off without any contact. It's getting easier to push him away, out of my thoughts. New York will make this easier, I suspect.

Heather... long time no post. Sorry, I feel I haven't given support during these major transitions. I was in a little funk. Don't know why or what... just was.
BUT, I have followed along the best I could. AND, now caught up. Wow! You've got a lot going on! Major things! Exciting!!! Stressful, but exciting!
I get the questions from kids things! Sometimes I just need to say, "You know what, guys? I don't really know, but I'm trying to figure it out. The more peace I get, the sooner I will have an answer for you."
AND- I've got to say... Wonka and KML have got me thinking about the whole choice of men thing, too! Hmmmm....
Now, right on with Fort Drum! My uncle did reserves there. As I said, I have lots of family up in that direction. In fact, my aunt lives in Watertown.
And, Brook, my uncle lives in Binghamton. Plus... my best friend went to Binghamton! I went there for the weekend with her... what a time we had! Prob right around the time you were there.... small world!
Heather, yup, get ready to be an official NYer! Whoo hooo! Welcome!! And, look into the town you will be living in. Some offer grants for buying a house. It usually can take a long time, but if you applied now, maybe in a couple years you would be eligible for a grant towards a house. There are stipulations, usually. I know someone here has to live in the house for 10 years. But I have heard of some places which offer this. Look into it!
Good luck. I am excited to follow your journey. I think of you and pray things will work out. But I know with your spirit... it will work out. You will make it!
I listed a pretty pricey item on Craigslist. I received a text from some guy who says he is a Petroleum Engineer and offshore right now. He wants to buy the thing sight-unseen. He says I give him my paypal email and he will wire me the amount and handle a pick up. Should I be wary?

Yes. Lots of scammers out there. Don't give him the item until payment is received and verified.
Don't want to sound dramatic but I know some folks who have been bamboozled.

I have a friend who got scammed by this one a couple years ago. Don't be surprised if he just disappears. In any case, don't accept a check or credit card because it's likely a scam.
My D20 goes to school up in the Potsdam area and really likes her school. They have 4 universities there - 2 private and SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam. It's a good college place and the folks that live there are really good to the kids. St. Lawrence and Clarkson both have Division 1 hockey teams (mens and womens) and the residents really support both of them. So as a college mom, I'm really happy with the environment for D20. And there are lots of guys up there too... so tell your D20.
I had no idea that the rents in Watertown were so awful. You'd pay those rates here. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Good luck!

p.s. I forgot the most important one! Don't give him your banking info because that's how my friend got burned. He said he would do an electronic funds transfer...

Ok. I just responded with my Paypal email address and told him that I would text him the address when his money clears. Haven't heard anything. I'm thinking he is trying to do something with the email...hack into my Paypal? IDK. I'm paranoid.
