I did not see the show, but I found the links to be interesting. It appears that SSM's are VERY common. Here are some interesting things I found on the site:
One of the Doctors comments "Women just don't seem to be connected to their lower half like Men." NO KIDDING!!!
Less hair on men means a higher sex drives then normal. Testosterone creates libido, but kills hair. Guess that explains MY HD. No that I think about it, my wife has VERY THICK hair. Hmmmm! Does thick hair mean LOW DESIRE!
Testosterone is mentioned A LOT in all the cases they were trying to fix.
I had one problem with their cases they were trying to fix, is that in most of them the LD spouses was seeking to fix the relationship. I have to believe that in most marriages, the HD spouse sees the problem MUCH earlier, aand they are the one trying to fix the situation. It takes a long time before the LD spouses are willing to admit that it is THEIR problem to solve. Of course, maybe this gives me reason to hope that if I can slowly work on my wife, she may come to realize that SHE also needs to fully participate in fixing our love life. She is the one that can fix it, not me.
I agree. I think that typically the LD spouse does NOT see the issue first. I do think there is hope for the HD spouses out there. My HD husband has been trying to convince me that there's a problem for almost 3 years! I always really knew there was a problem. But I never understood what was "wrong" with me and so I always just blew it off.
For me I think I have discovered that getting off of Wellbutrin was the answer, but for other people it may not be that simple.
Also realize this...who in a male/female partnership is going to be more likely to write in to the Oprah show???

No, I don't think so, I have very thick hair also and I am the HD spouse. But was a thought!
I have know for a long time though that for men with thinning hair(like me), it is caused by testosterone which causes the hair folicles to become clogged, thus shutting off the hair production. Must not really apply to woemn though.
Hey, Dude, I have a full head of hair and libido like a Porter/Cable Hammer Drill, so don't go pattin' yourself on the back just because you have some chrome on your dome.
