If the value and maintenance goes down he is directly effected. If it increased he would also benefit. He might be willing to look at it that way? Perhaps.
Is a job change going to help with money issues? What sort of job can you get to increase the budget? Ironing house cleaning office cleaning mending clothing alterations? Sell items on eBay?
