I liked the part about "Surrender".

But everything's better with a little Wonder Woman thrown in! smile

what! Just listened to the Helen Reddy song! How old are you 89? lol
Totally love the lyrics but she is not punk rawk AT ALL.

:-) Not quite 89, but about the perfect age when punk rock happened ... and in the 'right' country, just stuck in a rural backwater.

Lust for Life - oh yeah, good one. Love it. Don't know the others, hey YouTube, show me.

Here's my (quite short) GAL list for now:

I Am Woman - Helen Reddy
Blister In The Sun - Violent Femmes
I Can See Clearly Now - Johnny Nash
I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor
There's Always Music - United State Of Electronica (U.S.E)

Liking your surrender post, especially the hollerin' bit :-)

So I am surrendering detaching again. WAW is excited to go camping with a bunch of people I don't know and am jealous of. Who cares what she is doing - says the strong part of me that is detaching.
Well I can't wait for my kids GALing tomorrow. We are staying overnight at our church this weekend to watch a big screen movie (hurray for overheads) and run around the place, play with kids church toys ....till Sunday morning and we are enjoying free stampede breakfasts for our Calgary Stampede City wide events.
So looking forward to my awesome kids

Advice: my WAW is hiking and camping right now. This is a 180 she always wanted to do (hiking ) and has been bragging and talking about going all week while I have the kids this weekend. Should I be polite when she returns "hey welcome back! How was it? Did you have fun?"
Or do I just say nothing except "glad you're back, here are the kids" in my chipper voice. Thanks!

I just don't want to really get her PO at me so should I just be really subdued about her fantastic camping trip

I would act friendly but not over the top. Act like you were so busy GAL that you didn't have time to think about her camping trip.

Thanks Thor. I will start practicing my restrained friendly "sounds like you had fun" and then go about my day

Are you interested in hearing about it?

Who was she hiking with?

Why is it something she didn't do before?

I know, ????s, ????s, ????s. It just helps to fill in the gaps.

What would you normally do? Would you ask about it? If it is one of your 180s then ask away. If not then I would not even mention it. Let her bring it up. If she does, then say sounds great, the kids and I had a great time together. keep it short, sweet and not focused on her.
