Well, I seem to be in the minority here on this whole subject, but I certainly wouldn't "baby" him in any way. If he is to remain faithful, and strong enough to lead or co-lead your family going forward, he's going to have to be able to display some patience, maturity and consistency for several months here now at this critical stage.
He's been gone nearly 2 months this time and we've basically been 'dating' the past 3 weeks.
That ^^ ins't long at all. I would want to see H's actions and words that shows he's putting you as #1 priority on his list. If I were you, I'd give this process a coupla more months and re-evaluate.
