Tad, I don't want to sound critical here, but have you thought about letting your posts go? - that is what I am doing, and I am glad about it. I haven't got the time or the emotional energy to revisit all of this stuff, and I am not sure it would be good for me to do so.
The past really is another country. I think it is important that more is understood about MLC, but the individual MLCers are pretty opaque. They do this stuff.
As to posters fading away. Well I have a couple of good friends who no longer post, and are getting on with their lives. We keep in touch by email. It is OK to leave - a bit like a party. Some just stay a bit longer.
Good luck on the job. Focus on the future. It was wisely said that most of us imagine our past and remember our future.
