Let me say play station is a want, not a need. Food house and utilities are needs anything else apart from clothes are wants.
Save $ on the basics where you can. In the lucky country most people I know are wasteful with $. My child moans how big of a scrouge I am, and it pleases me. He doesn't understand why I don't feel insulted.
Free and cheap stuff is out there. Be creative. Think twice before you buy anything. Especially coffees and food out. I tend to never carry cash something I learnt in high school, but if you have it you spend it.
