Thats great Luke, keep it up. stay consistent. even when they dont respond.
For me personally, when dealing with my daughter (8 y.o.) i tend to forget to think like a child. instead i think about how i would like it, in my adult mind. but thats wrong. she loves the fart jokes, so fart jokes it is.
kids, teens, like it light, they want to feel independent, so a quick simple txt sometimes carries more affect than a long well written letter on fancy paper.
over time, the little txts, and pics will add up. and you'll get home after the month and your relationship with them will be that much further.

All quiet on W front, nothing happening. Daughter writes occasionally, was wonderfully pleased with laptop surprise present. S20 is done with school for now, looking for work.
Jam last night started lousy, overloaded with 3 Beatles obsessed guitarists, but they left early, and we switched to slow, cool, easy jazz, much better, so it ended well.
MIL, her boyfriend, and I were at a fancy restaurant Friday night, with some what looked like first dates. awkward. I can't imagine doing this again... I'd rather go out on a run or hike with said person...
I am off to Hawaii on Wednesday, and back to Europe on Monday, via NYC, as usual. There is an interesting sounding show at the Guggenheim museum, and I am looking forward to it.

Hi Luke I agree first dates, dating..the whole thought leaves me cold..much easier when you are active.. hiking would work ok too. Glad you are finding a music scene you like...enjoy the trip.. Loua
I am off to Hawaii tomorrow, so will probably be offline for a bit. Bond, if you are at Punahou's graduation, I am 6ft. tall and will be wearing a green pinstriped shirt.
Lou - the glass can be half full if you want it to be. There is lots of new stuff and new people up in the Ruhr, a different mindset than down south, plus Holland is nearby and has lots to see and do.

A technical question: is it possible to download a whole thread without having to do each message individually? If so, how please? I'd like to archive my decade here.
Thx - Luke
