I understand what you mean. You want him to feel some freedom and become his own person but it's hard to let him do it when you want to be involved in his life so much. I'm doing the same thing. Thankfully I only have to face this once.

They said they had fun. After prom wasn't over until 4am. I fell asleep on the couch waiting up. Lol. Their dad let me know that he was taking S18 on a trip to DC at the end of May. I wanted to take him to TN but that seems up inthe air now.
It will hopefully help build a relationship. Right now they have a jokey type relationship. S18 goes to visit him to let him know that he needs him but his dad doesn't seem to get that. I asked if it would be just him and his Dad on this trip but he said he didn't know. I will cross my fingers that they have a good time.

This may be all his dad can/will do and hopefully your S18 won't expect more than to have a good time with his dad. He's making the effort, at least, and hopefully you don't have to hear any sob stories when he returns. I hate those.
I'll let you ask whatever questions you want to ask my D20 and her BF - if you need to. They're both kids of divorced parents and maybe they can fill in some blanks for you? And if it helps, they both have struggles that I believe are D-related. Not saying that they wouldn't have had other issues had things been different, but I've noticed some stuff myself. So feel free to ask away.

Big night tonight...I get to meet Bets! How on earth will I get anything done?! . With all her driving I am sure she will be beat but that doesn't mean getting to meet her is any less fun.

Have a wonderful meet up you 2! I wish I could have met her on Friday. I had a dr appt (surgery is this Thurs) & arrived to learn I was a day late and he wouldn't see me! Panic! But I got my bloodwork & EKG done then off to the clinic where I got a dr to do my Pre Op exam.
It's not that easy to get to Toronto anymore since I don't know as many people here to help out with Ryan. Despite the fact Josh lives there half the week - I only go about twice a year. Usually enroute to Florida! I missed my son's birthday last week with the sudden trip to Quebec. Hope to see him next week if I'm up to it.
So the best laid plans of mice and men often go astray... No Bets. They decided to drive through. Bummed but I get it. Maybe another time. So off to do errands so I will keep myself busy.

We made an executive decision because we were absolutely sick of living out of the suitcase and couldn't stand eating out one more day. Our intestines were feeling it and we were all really crabby.
Then I got pulled over for speeding in Illinois yesterday. Any savings by eliminating another night in the hotel was decimated by that. At the very least, the state patrol guy was extremely nice and hot to boot. My D20 agreed.
I'm trying to nail down my client in Olathe again this week. I'll come out for that when they're ready. Then we can have more time to share.
Now I'm back in the office and dealing with a bunch of crap that went downhill in 3 days. What a mess.

I didn't get your message that you left on my home phone until I decided around 5:30 to head home and freshen up. So I wasn't ignoring you. I thought you would call my work number or cell so I didn't even think to check the home phone.
