It's hard to go dark with young kids. However, I describe myself as treating h cordially like a distant business associate. I don't initiate conversations but I smile and say have a nice day as I'm walking out the door. I never, ever, ever reach out unless it is a necessity. You can do this I'm happy to hers you've been enjoying your daughter. You are building a unique bond with her.
