Spouse tried I didn't, now opposite

Oh and I am actually getting more involved in myself
Spouse seems suspicious of the Wednesday night bible studies I go to (not of the actual srudy) but of me. It seems I'm still being viewed as trying to be the "nice" spouse in public to make them look bad. Has anyone gone through this. I am the one that caused our May troubles, I know that all too well. Is that just a normal reaction? I must say the time their is really different than I had envisioned. I usually stay chit chatting after every time. I feel so relaxed
