So while in Florida, I acquired a nasty sinus infection. Thought it was just a head cold but after 5 days of it simply getting progressively worse, I decided I had had enough and went to the doctors upon my return here to Fairfax, VA. So I am now on antibiotics and hoping that by tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest I will start to feel better. Oh and to make things interesting the med-tech who checked me in took my blood pressure three times with the lowest reading 143/85 and the highest 155/101. She wanted to know if I was feeling stressed - hmmm, father passed away a week ago; spent the week dealing with drunk sister and taking care of my father's estate; and now sicker than a dog. Me stressed??? What do you think! The Dr. said that since I haven't had any high BP readings in the last two years she wasn't worried about it.
On better news and something that I haven't really talked about recently is the old love life. I officially have a girlfriend (Julie) and she is simply wonderful! I met her just before the New Year and had just gone out with her about 3 times when Marianne dropped the bomb that she had fallen in love with me. Well I sorted through all of that and have been dating Julie exclusively for about the last six weeks. She is head over heels for me and I'm feeling pretty damn lucky right now. Sometimes it feels almost a bit too good to be true. No worries though - I am taking it one day at a time and not rushing into anything. We have a lot in common including kids the same age. So amidst the grieving over the loss of my father, life goes on and I am very thankful for the time I had with my Dad and the blessings I have with my four great kids, extended family and now Julie.
