“can we talk in a civil way” can be a little condescending imo. At the end of the day, what do YOU really need to talk about. You both owe tax money. You both have a responsibility to pay it. Bottom line if you really do not have the money then all you need to discuss is 1) request an extension from the IRS or 2) when will you have the money. This discussion should be had ONCE and ONCE only. Continuing to go back and forth with her is pointless. Communicate what you will do and then do it.
