Well, I will close out this thread with the events of today.
No chaos! He came in the door, without knocking. I walked over and said "Hello." He hung up his jacket. Hmmm...ok.
I didn't get spruced up. No makeup. I have on my jammies and robe because I plan on writing today. I was pleasant and when I caught myself getting uptight, I pulled back and took some breaths and acted proactively.
I told him where the tax info was, pleasantly, and also asked if he could take D11's bestie home if he chose to take D11 out to lunch. I, then, got busy doing my own thing.
A broken closet door of D11's was sitting in the living room because I've been meaning to deal with it. He putzed with the mail for a bit and then threw his full attention into the door.
He spent about an hour working on the door. I was pleasant. Joked with D11 and tried to encourage some conversation with him.
His mood sorta changed when he came back from the barn. I don't know if the tarp on the barn roof ticked him off or what???
I asked him to close my bedroom door for me when he walked past...after D11 seemed loosened up and ok. I noticed, with my door closed, that he went back into the hallway and probably checked out the mail more fully...
He took his Grandpa's medals and he asked if he could take his deer head. I'm cool with it. Hurts some, but I thanked him for asking.
