2s2q, if you did the flowers because you felt good about doing it, then it was all fine. Sometimes we have to do what we think is right, for ourselves. If you were hoping for some kind of expectation, and then feel let down because of it, then wrong choice. As you said, you expected her to act negative towards the flowers. She didn't, therefore giving her flowers was a positive.
